Max Pescatori

Max Pescatori is not what you would call the best in the business for poker but he is no slouch to say the least.  Pescatori has been a regular on the tournament circuit for quite some time and he works as hard as anyone to maintain throughout the duration but the top spots keep eluding him for what ever reason but he is content to stay in the game and make sure that he wins at lease something for his trouble.  He began his poker career playing seven card stud at one of the many casinos in Vegas but found that it was not very profitable to say the least.  The amount of big games that you can find in this type of play is small and Pescatori was hungry for more.

He decided to take up Hold ‘Em instead and quickly learned that you could make ten times the money is a much shorter period of time.  This was a smart move for Pescatori as he advantages of this style of playing and made them work.  This was one of those things that happens once in a lifetime and he was going to make sure that nothing stood in his way.  He enlisted Valter Farina to mentor him in the ways of Hold ‘Em tournament play and this move paid off.  Farina has the honor of being the only Italian player to hold a World Series of Poker bracelet and championship, something that Pescatori hopes to change in the very near future.

One of the main issues that seems to plague Pescatori is the aggressive playing style that he uses.  Many of the great ones have commented that it may just be a little too aggressive and that is why he gets into trouble in the early goings of the games only to have to work twice as hard to claw his way back up.  This has left him short stacked at some of the most critical points in the game and he could have won had it not been for a lack of chips.

Pescatori was born in 1971 in Milan and today at the age of 35 he still enjoys every minute of his tournament play and those around him.  He has earned the nickname The Italian Pirate from his style of head wear.  Many of the top players say that with some minor adjustments Pescatori could easily be the next champion of the World Series of Poker.
