Jennifer Harman
Because the sport of poker is almost completely dominated
by men, Jennifer Harman and her fellow women players need to work much harder
and be much better than the rest and that is exactly what she has done. While she is actually known as one of the
best in cash game players, she has also thrived in the tournaments though she
admits they are not her first love by any stretch. Harman has thus far survived two kidney
transplants (disease unknown) and also manages to be one of the top female
competitors in the poker world. This
comes as no surprise to those who know her, she is a stout competitor and an
overly aggressive player who thrives on the thrill of the game and the
difficulty that comes with competing against some of the best that have ever
lived. Harman is known for her
unshakable composure and is not one who can be easily intimidated by even the
finest of players. This was shown with
her first World Series of Poker bracelet win when she entered a tournament for
a game she had never played. A five minute session with poker great Howard
Lederer and she was ready to go and go she did, all the way to the top and win
the op prize.
Her
decision to play poker full time was not met with good feelings from her father
and thus there were several years where they did not speak. Now that he has seen first hand that she is
in her element, they have mended their fences and now enjoy a wonderful
relationship. This has made Harman very
happy as family is important to the young star.
While an up and coming star she was single and actually dated some of
her competitors like Howard Lederer.
Eventually she married Marco Traniello, another professional poker
player and she maintains close ties with those she once saw romantically.
While
she is not playing the tournaments, she spends her time in the casinos with the
high stakes poker tables, playing for as much as one hundred to two hundred
thousand dollars a pot. This is where
Harman truly shines and she is known as one of the best high stakes players in
the entire world.
Harman
has yet to reveal her birth date or true age but it is easy to see that she is
young and will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years for the poker
circuit players.
