Holdem Poker
If you
watch television or listen to the radio at all then you have heard
about the game Texas Hold’em. Its recent media frenzy has made it
even more popular than it has ever been. One of the best things
about this game is that if you are new to playing poker it is very
easy to learn and even easier to play for that first time. In this
game the rules are very simple and they go as follows. First of all
certain players at the table must do what is called posting blinds,
the players to the left of the dealer place the big and small
blinds. The big blind is the total amount of the minimum of the
table and the small blind is half that amount this makes sure that
the game is active. After the blinds have been placed play begins,
in this game the standard 52-card deck is used. Each player in the
game is dealt two cards face down called your hole cards. These are
the only cards in your hand that the other players at the table
won’t be able to see. After this happens a round of betting takes
place. Following this round of betting the first three community
cards are laid out on the table and this is called the Flop,
community cards means that all of the players are going to use those
card to make their best five card poker hand. Another round of
betting is started followed by the next community card called the
Turn. Yet another round of betting takes place followed by the final
community card, which is called the River. After the River is placed
on the table each player will bet again and will have a showdown,
this determines who wins the hand. If you are playing this game in a
land based casino it is hard to learn without losing your money to
more seasoned players, but that is why there are casinos online that
offer you the chance to play for fake money. This way you can build
up your skills until you feel ready to compete for real money. This
can end up being on the of the most exciting games you will ever
play and all you have to do is concentrate and know what is a good
hand and what isn’t. |
