Red Dog Poker

Red Dog Poker is becoming increasingly popular at online casinos, and it is not hard to understand why; this is a very fun and easy to learn game. Each card is ranked the same as in other poker games, with the exception that suit is inconsequential and Aces are always the high card. To begin the game, each player places their bets and the dealer deals two cards on the table, face up. If the two cards that the dealer placed on the table are consecutive (such as 2,3 or 6,7), then that hand is considered a Push and all wagers are returned. If the two cards are the same rank, a third card will be dealt to see if a third card of the same rank comes up. If this does occur, that triple will pay 11:1 odds, if not, it is considered a Push. The third scenario is that the two cards are not consecutive or of the same rank. When this happens, the dealer will announce the spread. The Spread is the number of cards that fall between the two cards that the dealer placed on the playing table. For example, if the two cards placed on the table are a 6 and a 10, then the spread would be 3. Once the spread has been announced, each players are offered the chance to double their original bet. When all of this has been taken care of, a third card is placed on the table, if it falls between the original two cards placed on the table, then the player will be paid out according to the paytable (shown below). If the third card is of the same rank of either of the two original cards or if it is lower or higher in rank than either of the two original cards, each player loses their bets. The paytable shown below shows the payouts for each possible spread:

Triple - 11:1
1card spread pays 5:1
2 card spread pays 4:1
3 card spread pays 2:1
4+ card spread pays 1:1

So, as you see, the general concept of Red Dog Poker is easy to learn, and once you try it, you will find that it will quickly become one of your favorite casino games. Another good thing about this game is that since it is not generally progressive, you can try it in the free or “play” mode at most casinos before playing it for real money.
