An exciting and unique new event has been added to the preliminary PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) schedule. ‘The Fish & Chips Showdown at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure’ is a two-day event, which takes place January 6-7, and combines sport fishing and poker in a hybrid ‘Man vs Fish’ contest of determination and skill.

The Fish & Chips Showdown is a truly unique tournament in which participants’ performances in the fishing derby (day one) will set the stage for card play at the poker tables on day two. For more event information, including rules and how to register, please go to http://www.pokerstarscaribbeanadventure.com/promotions/.
Register today or qualify online

Players can qualify online for a $3,425 package (which includes three nights’ stay at the Royal Towers hotel at the Atlantis Luxury Resort & Casino on Paradise Island, Bahamas) online at PokerStars.com – satellites are already running in the PCA/Events section of the PokerStars client. Direct buy-ins are also available for $2,300 (excludes hotel stay). For more information about the event, how to buy-in, or how to qualify please go to www.pokerstarscaribbeanadventure.com or email pca@pokerstars.com.
Chris Moneymaker set to play

Team PokerStars Pro and 2003 World Champion Chris Moneymaker is ready to take on this challenge. He said: “I jumped at the chance to play such an unusual and unique event. Most poker tournaments take place indoors, which is fine, but I can’t imagine a better way to enjoy paradise than to go fishing on the Caribbean Sea and follow that with poker action at the tables.”

The participants of the Fish & Chips tournament can also look forward to a private drinks reception at Atlantis on November 7. Winners of the fishing and poker parts of the event will both be crowned, along with an overall champion.

Players will set out fishing within a 50-mile radius of the Paradise Island Marina, with all boats sailing out and returning for weigh-in at the same time. The challenge then resumes at the poker tables with players battling for the poker share of the Fish & Chips Showdown. The overall champion will be determined by a ratio of one-third fishing, two-thirds poker.
